A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Alix Seif at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Research Institute, an interdisciplinary institution dedicated to conducting basic, clinical and translational research on conditions and diseases that affect children. CHOP postdoctoral fellows receive mentored training in a rich scientific environment that includes both the CHOP and University of Pennsylvania research communities. Dr. Seif is a Principal Investigator in the Division of Oncology. The successful postdoctoral applicant will investigate approaches to interrogate and circumvent immune tolerance in pediatric acute leukemias. The desired candidate must have a terminal degree (PhD preferred) in Immunology. In addition, proficiencies in nucleic acid isolation, PCR techniques, immune cell functional assays (ELISPOTS, Cr release assays, etc), and cell culture are strongly desired. Experience with mouse handling is also desirable, and a willingness to work with mice is strongly preferred.
